Episode 20 Summer 2024

Today let’s take a drive out the Danville gate. Folks usually turn left toward Hot Springs, but we will turn right and show you an area you may have never seen.

Reminder: Be respectful of personal property this is a private location. These are wild animals so no matter how tame they seem there is no guarantee they won’t take off a finger with a handful of grass.

  1. I’ve driven up this road a mile or two a few times but didn’t think it went this far. I live in the Balboa golf course area so I usually turn left at the gate and head down toward Hot Springs. Thanks for providing me a much better view of what is up the other way!

  2. Named for the donkeys we used to feed that lived near intersection of Danville Rd with Mt Ida by the HSV ABC bikers (real) on our weekly ride around the east village. Very scenic extension is to ride out Sulphur Springs Rd. to Hwy 9 and turn rt just before the Hwy to ride back to the East Gate on Burke Rd.
